Canadian Fire Programs (BC)

  • Picking up many key points
  • US fire issues migrate north
  • No federal fire program funding
  • All programs run on a cost recovery basis
  • Pre-employment training is a growing requirement with IFSAC seal, FF1, FF2, Provincial licensing system particular to each Province
  • Credentials for fire chiefs – university degrees + extensive experience.

  • Terrorism – angst and potential, demands being placed on Canadian system to create programs to deal with
